We have great ambitions for the future which include:

Vision

To develop and celebrate singing in Bedford by the creation of a high quality youth choir and bi-annual festival of choirs.

Aims:

• create a high quality youth choir, starting with the participating schools form the Peace on Earth Project

• promote excellence in a diverse range of choral singing

• develop a methodology to support singing in choirs

• raise awareness of the psychological, physical, health and musical benefits of singing in choirs

• to be inclusive and diverse, encouraging a variety of communities to share their vocal traditions

• to commission new work

• encourage people to sing in choirs

• promote, celebrate and share singing in choirs in Bedford, in exciting and new ways

• promote a programme of singing in choirs, especially a bi-annual festival of international quality

Objectives

• promote a bi-annual autumn festival (October/Nov) with a range of events to meet the aims

• provide masterclasses and workshops for choir leaders

• promote quality singing in schools working with a range of providers

• promote a range of choral workshops (warm-ups, vocal technique, choral hygiene)

• to promote, celebrate and share singing in Bedford, in exciting and new ways

• to promote high quality choirs in a range of genres (local, national and international)

• to be inclusive and diverse

We have registered Bedford Sings Limited 14234249 and will be applying for Charitable Status in due course. Company Directors: Brian Garner, Duncan Fraser, Ian Rowalnds
